Why is this happening to my body?
Although the delivery of the baby was via c-section, you still may experience vaginal dryness due to the change in hormones throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period. A decrease in estrogen levels can cause vaginal dryness, especially if you are breastfeeding. This may cause some pain or discomfort during intercourse, though some lubricants may help.
The most immediate postpartum change is the surgical incision to the lower abdomen. This incision is typically made just above the pubic hairline, and is closed with stitches, staples, or surgical glue. Your healthcare provider will provide instructions for incision care to prevent infection. The incision site may be sore, and you may experience some discomfort or numbness around it. Over time, the scar appearance will fade, and may become less noticeable. However the appearance of the scar may vary from person to person.
Similarly to a vaginal delivery, the tone in the abdomen may be decreased from stretching and manipulation during pregnancy. The c-section also involves cutting into some of the abdominal muscles, so you may find that recovery time is longer with a c-section.
